2001 Winterguard Productions Announced

Following a reasonably busy summer, especially for the younger members of our organisation, we are now well advanced in our preparations for the 2001 Winterguard season.  Membership has been increased and an exciting few months of competition is almost upon us.

Senior Guard
Moving back up to Open Class (the last time was 1991 when we became British Champions!) has given our Seniors a chance to change their style for 2001 performing to 'I Almost Had A Weakness' (Elvis Costello & The Brodsky Quartet - part of the Juliet Letters series).  Increased membership from last year, up from 7 to 12 members (including two members moving up from last years Juniors and 3 'rookies') has allowed the staff to be more adventurous as we continue to build for the future and become a regular feature in the top flight.

Junior Guard
This season the Juniors will be "warming us up" with their production entitled 'Summertime' with music of 'Summertime' (Peter Gabriel), 'On The Beach' (Chris Rea) and 'Summer of Love' (Steps).  The 11 members, also increased in size from last season, include three members of last years Rugrats and three new members.

Rugrats
Our youngest members will be pulling at the heart strings giving us their rendition of Robbie Williams 'Angels'.  With 18 members this show is bound to be a crowd pleaser and be a fun experience for the children involved.

The Seniors will be competing at 5 WGUK contests, the Juniors 4 and the Rugrats 3 with all three finishing their season at the British Colour Guard Championships at the end of March.  Also the Senior and Junior Guards will be travelling to Holland for the Winterguard International contest in Amsterdam in February.

Updates will posted to this website as the season progresses and there will be the usual chance to see all three units prior to the start of the season at our Preview Evening on Saturday 6th January.
