Juniors Promoted To A Class
Following two excellent results in the WinterGuard United Kingdom Junior Class contests in January the Southern Knights Juniors have now been advised that, along with 3 other Guards, they have the honour of being promoted up to the A Class with immediate effect.
After two years of consultation, WGUK introduced a system for the first time this season which promoted units up to the next class if they score over 10 points the average for their class at the end of the month. This is the first group of Guards to be moved up and we are extremely proud to have been able to make the grade to enable our Juniors to move up.
Guard Director, Karen Parris, advised the members at their rehearsal on Tuesday 28th January of their achievement and how this shows that their hard work and dedication over the past few months had paid off.
At their next contest the members of the Guard will be presented with Promotion Gold Medals and will be able to perform a repeat performance at the end of the event rather than the Open Class winners.
