Winter Season Almost Over

Time seems to have flown by this season and there just doesn't seem to have been time to keep the regular updates on the website and so here is a quick update as we lead into the British WinterGuard Championships on Saturday 26th March.

The Rugrats have had an excellent season having competed in 3 contests plus the WGI Regional and they have come 1st each time.  The 10 members have really shown that SK are a strong organisation from the youngest member to the oldest and are now seeded 1st in the Cadet Class for the British Championships.  They are performing to the Britney Spears tune Everytime

The Juniors have continued to add to their show as the season has progressed as their performance has increased by nearly 2 minutes since the first show.    Their Carpenters show has grown in stature over the 3 months and this improvement gave then 1st Place at their last contest.  Now going into the Championships the 10 members are seeded 2nd and have it all to play for in their class.

A slow start for the A Guard hasn't helped them in the pre Championships seedings as they are sitting in 5th Place but they have previously beaten some of the other Guards above them and were close to the rest at the last contest.  Their Abba show has really started to shine now but it wont be easy for the 8 members - not that this will hold them back when the time comes and most people agree that the A Class could go one of 4/5 ways.

Finally the Seniors have had a superb season - winning their last two contests plus being crowned the WGI Open Class Champions and are now going into the British Championships seeded 1st!!  However this position has not meant the 14 members have sat back as we know that other Guards will be fighting all the way and wont let the title come to Brighton easily.

So with a week go all 42 members of the Southern Knights Guards are putting their final touches to their 2005 performances and looking forward to entertaining the audience at Brentwood next Saturday.
