Summer Report & Ready For Winter

A busy few months are drawing to a close which have included performances by all three of the active summer units including school fetes and stage performances and details are just being finalised for one more major event in September for Brighton & Hove City Council - more details soon.

The summer has also seen probably the largest influx of new members to our organisation in such a short period and so, as well as building the skills of the existing members, time has also been spent integrating everybody ready for the start of the winter programme.

2006 will, once again, see 4 competitive units in the WGUK circuit and, although subject to possible slight changes over the next few weeks, the current numbers anticipated in each unit is:

Rugrats - 18 (up from 10 in 2005)

Juniors - 12/14 (up from 10 in 2005)

A Guard - 15/16 (up from 8 in 2005)

Seniors - watch this space come October!!!

Plans are now well advanced for the winter season and announcements of each units 2006 production will be made over the next weeks.

We are, however, pleased to be able to announce that for the third season running our US staff member/consultant, Adam Sage, will be back working with the staff of the Senior Guard, following his summer tour as Guard Caption Head of the Phantom Regiment Drum & Bugle Corps, and will once again be travelling to the UK over the winter assisting us in the task of defending the British Winterguard Championships.

The Rugrats, Junior and A Guards have continued rehearsals in the week during the summer and our winter programme of Sunday rehearsals for the A and Senior Guards will commence on Sunday 16th October following a launch party the night before!!
