The first month of competitions has now completed with all 4 Guards doing extremely well in their respective classes.

Rugrats
The Rugrats are, once again, fielding 16 members and they competed at one contest in January, our "home" show in Burgess Hill, where they were awarded a well deserved 1st Place for their "Jazz Club" show.  This class in now being adjudicated by a full panel of 5 judges looking at all aspects of their performance rather than just 2 judges looking at the overall analysis as it has been for the past few years.  

Junior Guard
This year with 15 members, the Juniors have also only competed once so far (at Burgess Hill where they came a very respectable 4th) and their Mountains production shows great promise especially as there are large "chunks" to be added which will continue to see this show grow.

A Guard
The 8 members of the A Class have competed twice in January and both times have been Runners Up but within a comfortable distance from the top unit.  Their Hotel California show has been very well received and they will be adding to it over the coming weeks to fill in the gaps.

Open Guard
The 18 members of the Open Class could not have asked for a better start to the season with two 1st Places out of 2.  With the costumes and silks to be added plus enhancements and additions to their Beautiful Mind show still to come there is plenty to look forward to over the next couple of months.

With the first month of the 2007 competitive season over all 4 Guards are nicely situated in their respective classes but with 2 months still to go we are not complacent and will continue to work hard.
