Following a good start to the competitive season in January all
four Guards have continued to improve during February and are now
ready for the final month leading up to the British Championships at
the end of March.
Rugrats
Having added to their Jazz Club show, the Rugrats score has jumped
significantly from the first Burgess Hill contest with a clear 1st
Place at Chippenham and they go into March seeded at the top of their
class (out of 7).
Junior Guard
The Juniors have also added to their show and there is still more
to come with their Mountains production. The were awarded a
credible 2nd Place at Chippenham and now start March seeded 5th (out
of 9) shows great promise especially as there
are large "chunks" to be added which will continue to see
this show grow.
A Guard
The A Guards Hotel California show has really to take shape now
and they were really pleased to be crowned European A Class Champions
at the Winterguard International Euro Regional in the middle of the
month and also came a close 2nd at the Chippenham contest leaving them
seeded 2nd (out of 12) less then a quarter of a point off the top
spot.
Open Guard
With the costumes finally arrived the Open Class have continued to
add and enhance their Beautiful Mind show and whilst struggling with
their morning prelims show at the WGI Euro Regional and being placed
2nd they pulled out all the stops for the evening Finals taking 1st
Place as European Open Class Champions. A 1st Place also at
Chippenham has kept them seeded 1st (out of 9) in their class but
others are close on their tails and so the plenty to keep them busy
over the next few weeks.
All four Guards have their final contest of the season, before the
British Championships, in two weeks time at Burgess Hill and we hope
to see a great "home" crowd at this event.
